# Translation Ayah
1 By heaven of the constellations, وَالسَّمَاء ذَاتِ الْبُرُوجِ
2 by the promised day, وَالْيَوْمِ الْمَوْعُودِ
3 by the witness and the witnessed, وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ
4 slain were the Men of the Pit, قُتِلَ أَصْحَابُ الْأُخْدُودِ
5 the fire abounding in fuel, النَّارِ ذَاتِ الْوَقُودِ
6 when they were seated over it إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ
7 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. وَهُمْ عَلَى مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ
8 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, وَمَا نَقَمُوا مِنْهُمْ إِلَّا أَن يُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ
9 God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَاللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
10 Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ
11 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ذَلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْكَبِيرُ
12 Surely thy Lord's assault is terrible. إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
13 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, إِنَّهُ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
14 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الْوَدُودُ
15 Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, ذُو الْعَرْشِ الْمَجِيدُ
16 Performer of what He desires. فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
17 Hast thou received the story of the hosts, هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْجُنُودِ
18 Pharaoh and Thamood? فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ
19 Nay, but the unbelievers still cry lies, بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي تَكْذِيبٍ
20 and God is behind them, encompassing. وَاللَّهُ مِن وَرَائِهِم مُّحِيطٌ
21 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, بَلْ هُوَ قُرْآنٌ مَّجِيدٌ
22 in a guarded tablet. فِي لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوظٍ
