# Translation Ayah
1 Woe to the stinters who, وَيْلٌ لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ
2 when they measure against the people, take full measure الَّذِينَ إِذَا اكْتَالُواْ عَلَى النَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ
3 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ
4 Do those not think that they shall be raised up أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُولَئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ
5 unto a mighty day لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
6 a day when mankind shall stand before the Lord of all Being? يَوْمَ يَقُومُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
7 No indeed; the Book of the libertines is in Sijjin; كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الفُجَّارِ لَفِي سِجِّينٍ
8 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا سِجِّينٌ
9 A book inscribed. كِتَابٌ مَّرْقُومٌ
10 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies, وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
11 who cry lies to the Day of Doom; الَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ
12 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ
13 When our signs are recited to him, he says, 'Fairy-tales of the ancients!' إِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا قَالَ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
14 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. كَلَّا بَلْ رَانَ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ
15 No indeed; but upon that day they shall be veiled from their Lord, كَلَّا إِنَّهُمْ عَن رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّمَحْجُوبُونَ
16 then they shall roast in Hell. ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُوا الْجَحِيمِ
17 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَذَا الَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ
18 No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْأَبْرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ
19 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ
20 A book inscribed, كِتَابٌ مَّرْقُومٌ
21 witnessed by those brought nigh. يَشْهَدُهُ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ
22 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ
23 upon couches gazing; عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنظُرُونَ
24 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss تَعْرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ النَّعِيمِ
25 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed يُسْقَوْنَ مِن رَّحِيقٍ مَّخْتُومٍ
26 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- خِتَامُهُ مِسْكٌ وَفِي ذَلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ الْمُتَنَافِسُونَ
27 and whose mixture is Tasnim, وَمِزَاجُهُ مِن تَسْنِيمٍ
28 a fountain at which do drink those brought nigh. عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا الْمُقَرَّبُونَ
29 Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا كَانُواْ مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يَضْحَكُونَ
30 when them passed them by winking at one another, وَإِذَا مَرُّواْ بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ
31 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, وَإِذَا انقَلَبُواْ إِلَى أَهْلِهِمُ انقَلَبُواْ فَكِهِينَ
32 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوا إِنَّ هَؤُلَاء لَضَالُّونَ
33 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. وَمَا أُرْسِلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ حَافِظِينَ
34 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, فَالْيَوْمَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ
35 upon couches gazing. عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنظُرُونَ
36 Have the unbelievers been rewarded what they were doing? هَلْ ثُوِّبَ الْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ
