# Translation Ayah
1 Of what do they question one another? عَمَّ يَتَسَاءلُونَ
2 Of the mighty tiding عَنِ النَّبَإِ الْعَظِيمِ
3 whereon they are at variance. الَّذِي هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ
4 No indeed; they shall soon know! كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ
5 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ
6 Have We not made the earth as a cradle أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ مِهَادًا
7 and the mountains as pegs? وَالْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًا
8 And We created you in pairs, وَخَلَقْنَاكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا
9 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا
10 and We appointed night for a garment, وَجَعَلْنَا اللَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا
11 and We appointed day for a livelihood. وَجَعَلْنَا النَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا
12 And We have built above you seven strong ones, وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًا شِدَادًا
13 and We appointed a blazing lamp وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًا وَهَّاجًا
14 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ الْمُعْصِرَاتِ مَاء ثَجَّاجًا
15 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, لِنُخْرِجَ بِهِ حَبًّا وَنَبَاتًا
16 and gardens luxuriant. وَجَنَّاتٍ أَلْفَافًا
17 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَاتًا
18 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًا
19 and heaven is opened, and become gates, وَفُتِحَتِ السَّمَاء فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَابًا
20 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. وَسُيِّرَتِ الْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا
21 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا
22 for the insolent a resort, لِلْطَّاغِينَ مَآبًا
23 therein to tarry for ages, لَابِثِينَ فِيهَا أَحْقَابًا
24 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًا وَلَا شَرَابًا
25 save boiling water and pus إِلَّا حَمِيمًا وَغَسَّاقًا
26 for a suitable recompense. جَزَاء وِفَاقًا
27 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًا
28 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كِذَّابًا
29 and everything We have numbered in a Book. وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَاهُ كِتَابًا
30 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' فَذُوقُوا فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا
31 Surely for the godfearing awaits a place of security, إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا
32 gardens and vineyards حَدَائِقَ وَأَعْنَابًا
33 and maidens with swelling breasts, like of age, وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًا
34 and a cup overflowing. وَكَأْسًا دِهَاقًا
35 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cry of lies, لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا كِذَّابًا
36 for a recompense from thy Lord, a gift, a reckoning, جَزَاء مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَاء حِسَابًا
37 Lord of the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, the All-merciful of whom they have no power to speak. رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الرحْمَنِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا
38 Upon the day when the Spirit and the angels stand in ranks they shall speak not, save him to whom the All-merciful has given leave, and who speaks aright. يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الرُّوحُ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ صَفًّا لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ الرحْمَنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا
39 That is the true day; so whosoever wills takes unto his Lord a resort. ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمُ الْحَقُّ فَمَن شَاء اتَّخَذَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ مَآبًا
40 Lo, We have warned you of a nigh chastisement, upon the day when a man shall behold what his hands have forwarded, and the unbeliever shall say, 'O would that I were dust!' إِنَّا أَنذَرْنَاكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيبًا يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ الْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ الْكَافِرُ يَا لَيْتَنِي كُنتُ تُرَابًا
