# Translation Ayah
1 Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High, سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى
2 who created all things and gave them due proportions, الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّى
3 who determines the nature [of all that exists], and guided it accordingly; وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَى
4 who brings forth green pasture, وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَى
5 then turns it into black stubble. فَجَعَلَهُ غُثَاء أَحْوَى
6 [O Prophet!] We shall make you recite the Quran so that you will not forget any of it -- سَنُقْرِؤُكَ فَلَا تَنسَى
7 except whatever God wills; He knows both what is manifest and what is hidden -- إِلَّا مَا شَاء اللَّهُ إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَى
8 We shall facilitate for you the Easy Way. وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَى
9 Remind, if the reminder can be of benefit. فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَى
10 He who fears [God] will heed the reminder, سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَى
11 but it will be ignored by the most unfortunate, وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْأَشْقَى
12 who will enter the Great Fire, الَّذِي يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرَى
13 where he will neither die nor live. ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَى
14 He who purifies himself, قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّى
15 who remembers the name of his Lord and prays, shall indeed be successful. وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّى
16 But you prefer the life of this world, بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا
17 although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَى
18 This indeed is what is taught in the former scriptures -- إِنَّ هَذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَى
19 the scriptures of Abraham and Moses. صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى
