who collects and hordes wealth, |

الَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُ |

thinking that his property will make him live forever. |

يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُ أَخْلَدَهُ |

By no means! They will be thrown into hutamah. |

كَلَّا لَيُنبَذَنَّ فِي الْحُطَمَةِ |

Would that you knew what hutamah is! |

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحُطَمَةُ |

It is a fierce fire created by God |

نَارُ اللَّهِ الْمُوقَدَةُ |

to penetrate into the hearts. |

الَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى الْأَفْئِدَةِ |

It will engulf them. |

إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِم مُّؤْصَدَةٌ |

in its long columns of flames. |
