# Translation Ayah
1 Celebrate the Name of your Lord, the Most Exalted, سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى
2 who created and proportioned, الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّى
3 who determined and guided, وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَى
4 who brought forth the pasture وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَى
5 and then turned it into a black scum. فَجَعَلَهُ غُثَاء أَحْوَى
6 We shall have you recite [the Quran], then you will not forget [any of it] سَنُقْرِؤُكَ فَلَا تَنسَى
7 except what Allah may wish. Indeed, He knows the open and what is hidden. إِلَّا مَا شَاء اللَّهُ إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَى
8 And We shall ease you into facility. وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَى
9 So admonish, for admonition is indeed beneficial: فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَى
10 he who fears [God] will take admonition, سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَى
11 and the most wretched will shun it وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْأَشْقَى
12 —he who will enter the Great Fire, الَّذِي يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرَى
13 then he will neither live in it, nor die. ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَى
14 ‘Felicitous is he who purifies himself, قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّى
15 celebrates the Name of his Lord, and prays. وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّى
16 But you prefer the life of this world, بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا
17 while the Hereafter is better and more lasting.’ وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَى
18 This is indeed in the former scriptures, إِنَّ هَذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَى
19 the scriptures of Abraham and Moses. صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى
