# Translation Ayah
1 I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- وَالسَّمَاء وَالطَّارِقِ
2 How will you comprehend what the night star is? وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الطَّارِقُ
3 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- النَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُ
4 That over each soul there is a guardian. إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ
5 Let man consider what he was made of: فَلْيَنظُرِ الْإِنسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
6 He was created of spurting water خُلِقَ مِن مَّاء دَافِقٍ
7 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. يَخْرُجُ مِن بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَائِبِ
8 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). إِنَّهُ عَلَى رَجْعِهِ لَقَادِرٌ
9 The day all secrets are examined يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَائِرُ
10 He will have no strength or helper. فَمَا لَهُ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ
11 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, وَالسَّمَاء ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِ
12 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), وَالْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدْعِ
13 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ
14 And no trifle. وَمَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِ
15 They are hatching up a plot, إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا
16 But I too am devising a plan. وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا
17 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. فَمَهِّلِ الْكَافِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًا
