# Translation Ayah
1 Praise the name of thy Lord the Most High, سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى
2 Who createth, then disposeth; الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّى
3 Who measureth, then guideth; وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَى
4 Who bringeth forth the pasturage, وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَى
5 Then turneth it to russet stubble. فَجَعَلَهُ غُثَاء أَحْوَى
6 We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget سَنُقْرِؤُكَ فَلَا تَنسَى
7 Save that which Allah willeth. Lo! He knoweth the disclosed and that which still is hidden; إِلَّا مَا شَاء اللَّهُ إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَى
8 And We shall ease thy way unto the state of ease. وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَى
9 Therefor remind (men), for of use is the reminder. فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَى
10 He will heed who feareth, سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَى
11 But the most hapless will flout it, وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْأَشْقَى
12 He who will be flung to the great Fire الَّذِي يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرَى
13 Wherein he will neither die nor live. ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَى
14 He is successful who groweth, قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّى
15 And remembereth the name of his Lord, so prayeth, وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّى
16 But ye prefer the life of the world بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا
17 Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَى
18 Lo! This is in the former scrolls. إِنَّ هَذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَى
19 The Books of Abraham and Moses. صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى
